Jericho Trumpets

The German JU-87 "Stuka" dive-bomber was a major factor in the success of the German blitzkrieg during the early stages of the war. The devastating accuracy of its bombing attacks struck fear into the hearts of its victims. To enhance the psychological effect of this early terror weapon, the Germans attached what they called "Jericho Trumpets" to the airplane's fixed landing gear. These sirens let out an ear-piercing scream as the plane dove headlong towards its target.
